Open Channel Flow Meters: Ultrasonic

Acoustic Doppler Sensor with Spectral Analyses

Doppler ultrasonic sensor of area/velocity for open canal measurements. The new sensor combines digital Doppler ultrasonic of advanced technology for the detection of velocity with DSP processing technology, more modern and powerful, which allows real time spectral analysis of the velocity distribution threw the area of the section area.

Ultrasonic Combined Doppler Sensor

Doppler ultrasonic sensor of area/velocity for open canal measurements. The combined CS4 sensors measures Doppler pick velocity, ultrasonic level, pressure level and the CS5 sensor measures superficial velocity, Doppler pick velocity, ultrasonic level and pressure level.

The data analysis is performed by a specific software of hydraulic treatment called PROFILE which allows additionaly data gathering and monitoring in real time.

The flow-rate can be calculated making use of the Continuity equation and Manning equation.

Transitory Time Ultrasonic Sensor

Ultrasonic sensor for open canal measurements. The new sensor calculates the velocity (V) and the flow-rate (Q) of the average fluid (Dt) by the difference between the ultrasonic probes transitory times(t21-t12). The sensors position is fixed and known.
